Designer
NCsoft Europe is currently seeking a creative and original Designer to join its Creative Services team. The Designer will be responsible for producing high quality, original and innovative work for a variety of online and print-based projects. Working with three other Designers and reporting to the Creative Services Manager, the main focus of the Designer will be to aid the collective performance of the Design function within the Creative Services team, sharing knowledge, developing expertise and promoting originality and excellence.
Success in this role relies on the ability of the Designer to think clearly and creatively, to apply experience to tasks but also not be afraid to experiment, and to apply a design sensibility to any challenge. The Designer will be working in a team with a variety of specialisations and interests, and may have the opportunity to focus in a particular area in time.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and implement original designs across all NCsoft games and brands for a variety of applications. These include websites, Flash-based mini-sites, online banner campaigns, print advertising, packaging, point of sale, manuals and brochures
- Ensure all NCsoft online projects work with the current crop of browsers and are produced to commonly accepted accessibility and semantic standards
- Working with the Creative Services team to deliver projects in scope, on time and of the highest possible quality
- Regularly find and research new developments in design theory and practice
- Maintain a high standard of organisation of source assets, working files and coding standards
Requirements
- Education or experience in a design role to degree equivalent
- 3-5 years experience in a design agency or similar environment
- Expert knowledge of several of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and InDesign
- Experience with printing technology, workflows and methodologies
- Advanced HTML and CSS, implemented to a high level of semantic standards and accessibility
- Attention to detail bordering on ‘obsessive’
- Flexible
- Determined
- Able to work well under pressure
Preferred
- Basic knowledge of an additional European language an advantage
- An interest in photography, illustration or animation will help the successful candidate
